Student Leadership
School Leaders
Senior students nominate, lobby and face a peer election to take on one of the 8 School Leader positions. School Leaders play an active role in weekly assemblies and represent the school at community events. All senior leaders go to the G.R.I.P. Student Leadership Conference in Melbourne each year where the students engage in a range of seminars and workshops designed to develop their leadership skills.
House Captains
Students are nominated and elected by the members of their sports houses and assist with the organisation of sports events. The 8 Captains display a terrific competitive spirit combined with good sportsmanship and do an excellent job in role modelling expected behaviour to our younger students.
Junior School Council
Students from across all levels of the school are able to nominate to be elected to the Junior School Council where they represent the views of the student body, communicate with School Council and undertake a range of community service activities. They also play an important role in organising and running fundraising events throughout the year to raise money for a variety of charities.
Prep and Year 6 Buddies Program
Each Foundation student is paired with a Year 6 Buddy. Buddies work together on selected activities where the older student takes on a mentoring role with the younger student. Buddy relationships often extend beyond the classroom, with older students “looking out” for their buddy in the playground. The program aims to develop relationships of trust and responsibility between students as well as leadership skills of Year 6 students.
